BATMAN:
GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT
In lack of any good statue or modelkit from Gotham By Gaslight, I had to settle for this rather great 19 cm. tall action figure from DC-Direct. Its from a serie called Elseworld, and this particular figure is based on Mike Mignolias great comic: Batman: Gotham By Gaslight (1989), witch sets The Caped Crusader back in 1888, facing the infamous serial killer known as "Jack the Ripper."
Strangely, this comic didnt really belong to the Elsworld series, but was issued earlier, and made way for the other great stories to come in the later Elseworld serie: Batman, Master of the Future (1991) . A sequel of GBG that takes place in a Jules Verne styled Victorian era Gotham City. And Batman, Regin of Fire (1999) Set to Paris during the French revolution.
