1932 FORD "THE HOT FROG"
Starting with MPCs old American Graphitti coupe body and a Revell 32 frame, I did some serious stepping of the rear frame and added a modified Rolls Royce rear axel with an exotic four spring suspention. Reartires and wheels are from one of the Monogram classics; Duesenberg or Packard or similar. Hubs are spare wheelhubs from Revells 37 Ford PickUp/Delivery kit. The front end of the frame is double Z-ed to get the killer rake, and suspention is a modified unit from the parts box, with the leaf springs turned upside down, and mounted on top of the frame. The handling is at best doubtful, but who cares. Frontwheels are skinny wires and tires from an AMT 27 Ford. To dress up the innerwheels all around, I used some flywheels or something from a Trophy kit as dressups. The engine is a V12 flathead from a Monogram Lincoln, with homemade, tilted carburetor intakes and alu. tubes. I also made som headers by bending some insulated wire into shape. Some wiring is also present.
The already chopped coupe body was chopped even more, and channeled over the frame. Windows made from acetate. Paint is a mix of orange pearl and yellow pearl with white scallops and a coat of flat over it.
The interior consists of a modified benchseat from a 29 Ford with a mexican blanket made out of some stripe decals I had laying around. A scratchbuildt dashboard with steeringwheel from the part box. Prouting up from the flocked floor is a long shafted eight balled shifterstick.
This build was a fun, but long dragging project, inspired by Chris Froggetts art in general and more specifically"The Naugahyde Zombie"
